Ultimately, the best way to check if your Louis Vuitton bag is real is to have it authenticated by a Louis Vuitton expert or retailer. These items will not have date codes but will continue to say where the item was made unless it is made in the USA. Also, in rare cases, some genuine Louis Vuitton bags will skip over the date coding, and then you’re left with very little methods to validate your bag. In January 2021, Louis Vuitton announced that they will be switching from using heat-stamped date codes to integrated micro chips and RFID chips in all of their products.
